  • A scale to measure coffee and water

  • A French press or coffee maker

  • A spoon

  • A notebook and pen to take notes

Instructions:

  1. Start by heating water to 200°F. You can use a thermometer to measure the temperature or boil water and let it cool for 30 seconds.

  2. Weigh out 8 grams of coffee for each sample.

  3. Grind the coffee to a medium-coarse grind.

  4. Pour the hot water into your French press or coffee maker, filling it about halfway.

  5. Add the ground coffee to the hot water and stir.

  6. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes.

  7. Push the plunger down on the French press or pour the coffee into a separate container, if using a coffee maker.

  8. Take a sniff of the coffee's aroma and take note of any scents you detect.

  9. Take a spoonful of the coffee and slurp it loudly, letting the coffee spread across your tongue. Take note of any flavors you taste.

  10. Repeat this process for each sample in the sampler pack.

  11. Compare the different blends and take note of your favorite.

Coffee cupping is not only a fun way to discover your next coffee obsession, but it also provides a unique opportunity to taste the differences in flavor and aroma between each blend. So why wait? Order your Iluminar Coffee Do-It-Yourself Cupping Sampler Pack today and start your coffee journey!
